S. Coulson, the information that I have regarding Collins Court is taken from the 1946 Newry directory, they are all scanned images on a disc, but if you let me have an e-mail address I can send them to you.

I wish to thank all concerned who attended my Aunt Madge Keenan's funeral in Newry last week. I also believe that Tony Fitzpatrick wrote a lovely poem. Thanks Tony.

Hello there
Does anyone remember Lottie Mckeon? Sister of Oliver McCann (born in Erskine Street, no.19); she did a lot of charity work I believe. Would love to hear any stories about her or Oliver; photos would be great.
This is such a wonderful website. Well done everyone.
S. Coulson

I also learnt with sadness yesterday of the death of Mrs Keenan mother of my old friend Tony. Like Patrick Digby I have many fond memories of her house in High Street. She was a lovely woman. My sympathies to Tony and the rest of the Keenan family

I was informed on Saturday 26th July, that my Aunt Madge Keenan passed away. Aunt Madge was the wife of the late Hugh Keenan, my mother's brother.
My happy memories of playing in Aunt Madge's house in High st and at the back, sliding down the grass hill.
My prayers to Madge's two sons Tony and Brendan.
From all of the Digby family, our prayers from around the world.

to tony fitzpatrick, we go back to newry every couple of years, only for our family we wouldnt talk to anyone we know, it seems very strange watching all the faces and not see one you know, we left in 63 its not the same anymore, but we still go home

Great Site, had the best laugh in ages at the recollection of the resident of the meadow who proclaimed that he sent the people from Derrybeg who were banging bin lids during the troubles back home with a stern look..!! Ha Ha, so funny, he should have told the RUC not to bother to fire the plastic bullets, a stern look from a resident of the meadow would have naturalised any potential riot!!
Really he should get real. People like him who tried to blinker out the world around them were nothing but cowards,,,,

Hi Folks. The reference to Declan Mc Chesney made me think again of the class of 69 from the Abbey as well as guys and girls from the other schools of the same year. I often meet Declan but can go through several visits to Newry without bumping into anyone from that group. Does anyone know how many of that years students still work and live in Newry
