Would there be any descendants of a Frank and Annie O'Hare who lived in William St. Newry around 1911?
On that census they had children Michael aged 5, Francis aged 3, and daughter Christina. An Australian relative is very keen to contact anyone who may know of them, especially Michael, who was her grandfather. She thinks he married in Nottinghamshire in the 1930's, but all contact had been lost with him. Any scrap of information would be most gratefully received.
Many thanks, Sue.

I read with intrest; ''Canal Drownings,'' written by Anonymous on the Home Page. The 'compass' embedded in the roadway between the two waterways at Godfrey Bridge is the work of my father, Patrick Gerard Patterson. I have not seen this work of my father's. Ed. John, i would appreciate a photo placed on the Home Page, thank-you Theo Patterson.

I'd like to contact any of my father's relatives. He was Michael Thomas McArdle and I think he had a shop in Monaghan Street Newry. My mother and he separated in the 1940s and we lost touch with him after a brief period of contact in the 50s.
Diarmuid Harte
Would like to contact family of late William (Willie) Harte, long time resident of Newry. Son of Michael Harte who lived in Wales but originally from Clonakilty, Co. Cork.

Robin BELL
G'Day from Melbourne, Australia.
My great grandparents were married in Sandy St Wesleyan Chapel in 1858. GGFather Robert BELL, (son of William BELL of Templepatrick and Eve Hill of Belfast) c. St Anne's Belfast in 1833, married Sarah HARCOURT, dau of local Merchant, Richard HARCOURT of High St, Newry.
If anyone is interested I have lots of data on the Harcourts ancestors which I can share.
Any info anyone has on the Newry families of Glenny, Anderson, Little (Lyttle), Woods, Lockhart, McDowell, McElroy, Millar, McAvery, Morrow, and of course BELL would be very appreciably received.

Hi,austin,if you are as sound as your cousin, then a few jars of lemonade (cringe!),wouldn't go astray:)...about jim and brian dean,I didn't know them very well, except when we were going to school in the late fifties, but nice enough lads, after all they were the 'river street mob' and we were a coalition of the 'church street crooks' and the 'high street hoods!' lots of good innocent cráic......i wonder if jim o'hare is over here in england,i'd like to see him again.....i visit newry about every five years and can hardly remember any of it...i wonder why!.....i still think of it as it was when i was living there, but there's a change in the town,on account of all they've been through and children you went to school with, sporting grey hair,it just doesn't add...i still love the old town....even my enemies!!.....we shall have that jar in bolton sometime this year......deal?
