Sub-e: go to ** and type haystack in the search box. There are some beauties!

Many thanks Watcher. I had already done that but none of Monet's haystacks remind me of those in the fields around S. Armagh and Down when I was growing up there!
Somehow they are just not the right shape! OK, so I'm picky. But that's what sub-editors are!
The Watcher
Google Haystacks and go to Monet

Anyone know where I can find a picture, print or photo' of 'old fashioned' hay stacks?
You know the type with the lovely round tops? Not the rolled up version of the present times!

I love the thread/info. re Newry shipping and canal.
Has anyone any info. re O'Hanlons who lived in Fathom-particularly my Husband's Father- PADDY O'HANLON [RIP]-who came over to Liverpool to live.
One of his brothers -TERRY O'HANLON[RIP]-was on the Dorrian Rose & was subsequently lockmaster.
We are trying to build up my Husband's family tree.
Best wishes to you all-

My ancestor, author and officer Robert GreMy anville Wallace,is buried in St Patrick's cathedral. He daughter is my gggrandmother, Harriet Wallace(b. 1811 Calcutta) who married William Donaldson and emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada in 1838. I have recently unearthed some of their lost story and am pouring over your wonderul site for details that tell me about their life. Someday Ill get there!
Incidentally, their 1860 house is restored in the New Brunswick Historical Village.
John McCombe
hello
great site, many thanks for all your work
My father was John D McCombe born in Newry. His family lived in and around Basin House and Basin walk - now flattened. I have one picture, from the excellent 'Frontier Town' by Tony Canavan 1989 (page 215)
Can anyone tell me what happened to the house, and any other information?
Thank you
John

just came across your site, relly good. I live in london and have been going to newry since i was 6 months old and never missed a year, now my children love it as i did. My family in newry are kimmins and Mcgiverns. My grandad was Paddy kimmins who was a baker at McCanns and sadly my granny (thersea kimmins) died in July 06 of John Martin Street. God how newry has changed, i remember all the characters, good things have happened there in recent years and bad things, the traffic is crazy and everyone appears to be in such a rush. The hotel is a great asset. I will continue to visit the site

Hi - I have enjoyed this site immensely! My great great great grandfather was Felix O'Hanlon - born ca 1818 in Belfast Antrim Ireland. He married Rose Ann McKeever born ca 1826 in Belfast. Felix came to the United States - New York city around 1850. Rose Ann (his wife) came on the Albert Gallatin on 23 Jul 1852. She had with her James (her son) and her daughter Catherine O'Hanlon (my great great grandmother). Does anyone have any information or anyplace I can go to discover more information on Felix? I would love to see where he fits in with the O'Hanlon history I've enjoyed reading so much. Thank you.

A big thank you to to Santanta, Jasper Cucumber, Pictionary, Luigi Ravioli and Theo. "Steve Edgar is a crawler" is now published all over search engines on the internet. I'd very much like to thank you all for doing this to me so bravely behind your assumed names. If you would like to contact me with your correct names and addresses we can take the matter further. I made a genuine visit to this site in December, I found the information useful and tried to show my appreciation to the website compiler. Mindless morons making silly accusations on websites is ruining internet research.
