May I once again offer grateful thanks to the lovely Janine Masters who comes up trumps so often for me, in the way of old photos?

Analyse this one, all ye brethren, and answer me a few questions.

What was the band? What was the occasion? What was the year?

And most of all, where can I get a man’s suit at £5.50?

That’s the price in the window of the Northern Clothing Company!

Today that’s Hanna/Hillens window. You know, David Hanna, President of Newry Chamber of Commerce, organiser of Altnaveigh Cultural Society and so on ....

Anyway, see how relaxed the whole affair was then!

People in the distance perched on the tide wall or lining the Stone Bridge.

There's one pig-tailed lass standing precariously on the wall opposite Kerr & McCulloughs and I hope she doesn't topple over into the water!

Smiling faces. Festival atmosphere.

Can we please get back to celebrating again in this pleasant way?
