‘I was the only man working in the carding room of Bessbrook Mill of the 1950s,’ he moaned.



‘It was interesting, to say the least.’

Since he was the donor of this photo, I’d better keep his identity a secret.

The girls were Philly Pentony (top left), Mona McStay (top right), Rosie Treanor and Tish McGrath (bottom right).

Sadly Mona and Rosie are no longer with us. Rosie was the wife of Francie Grey. Tish is married to Dermot Bradley – and if I may say so – an attractive lady to this day.
