Tonight’s (Sunday’s) play in Newry Drama Festival is In Flame by Charlotte Jones and it is a funny and sparkly play about lust, hope and dreams.

The action takes place in Yorkshire, 1908, and London in the present. There are two males and four female parts.   It was written in 2000.

The play weaves together two centuries through past and present parallels into an intense theatrical experience. Dutiful Livvy in Yorkshire 1908 yearns for exploration while Alex, in the New Millennium London needs direction in her affair.

Other plays by the author include the very successful “Humble Boy”.
