On Friday of this week (19 November) there will be a Recital of Chopin music in the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre on this, the bicentenary of the composer’s birth.  I have an invite – but at the moment I’m not sure whether tickets will be on sale.

Unfortunately the date clashes with an event organised by the Young Ireland Fund (with Altnaveigh House) in the Reformed Presbyterian Church, entitled Rebels and Loyalists [The love affair of Jenny Verner and John Mitchel].  Michael Mckeown, pictured above, author of The Book of Newry is likely to attend the latter.

I would also have liked to – but music always comes first with me and my dear wife.  So we’ll be in the Arts Centre.  I think you should choose one or the other above Ryan Tubridy, for example!
