The Food Standards Agency send Inspectors regularly to assess the hygiene standards in public establishments where food is stored, processed and served to the public.
The following lists (County Down only, or Armagh– with Newry postal address) include some schools and businesses as well as some cafes and restaurants and are far from comprehensive.
We have tried to list from Poor [0,1] to Excellent [4,5].
Please note that, in regard to cafes and restaurants, food hygiene standards do not reflect on the menu offered, on meal standards, on chefs or on value for money. At the same time, we accept that hygiene would be most people’s number one priority!
