By this time many of the town’s modern public housing estates had been built and many were rehoused to The Meadow, Dromalane, Derrybeg Park, Courtenay Hill, Hennessy Park and Barcroft Park. Others moved into Linenhall Square to take their place. Still others moved within Linenhall Square, such as Dickie Rodgers, now living in Church Street.

AND we just received this email from Patrick Clarke in California ..

Hi John,

I just want to say thanks for your web site.  It’s great and so full of memories so far away.

I was born in Newry in 1950: lived at 35A Linenhall Square; Clarke’s gable is where the lads would be pitch tossing on Sundays mornings. 

I am presently living on my horse ranch in Northern California.
