Meadow Altar Boys: early 60s

While we are still celebrating the 60th anniversary of the first residents of the Meadow estate, we will upload a few more Meadow stories and images.

We apologise for the poor quality of the following two photos which were captured from newspaper stories.

The subjects are the first batch of altar boys at St Bridget’s old church (the ‘hut’).

We recognise Brendan Murphy from The Bungalows in the first: and (we think) Pat Treanor of Slievegullion Road in the second.

Can you help to complete the names please?

A.A.  :

I love a mystery so I can name a few of the faces but not all.
In the first photograph, back row on very right Maurice Flanagan from the Armagh Road.  Standing to his right his Eamon Rafferty, Ballinlare Gardens.
Second photo, on back left, Sean Kenny, Ballinlare Gardens, beside him Peter Flanagan, Armagh Road,
Middle section, on the left, Martin Crummy, over to the other side is a brother of John Rogers, I think he was called Declan – they were from Derrybeg Drive.

So now I await other answers.

It brought back some memories.
