The present Monaghan Street Hairdresser Hugh Gorman has in his possession the original bill of transfer of his salon from the then owner, Bridget McCullagh of 43 Monaghan Street, to his grandfather Tom in 1933.

If you check on Google Earth, you will find that St Bride’s, Alberta, Canada is on a similar latitude to Newry but being in the centre of the North American continent, it experiences a radically different climate.
