Jamie dies …

Minnie Caulfield was working in Kensington, London when the bad news of her brother Jamie arrived by telegram.

The Silent Valley Rerservoir in the Mournes was built, between 1923-33, to serve the water requirements of the City of Belfast. Over a thousand men laboured on the project, and nine of them died, including Jamie Caulfield. He got his leg opened with a grey granite rock and the poison spread through his body.
