Lislea Festival : Moll

My admiration for the people of Lislea knows no bounds. I attended the mid-week Drama Festival play – Antigone by Kilrush Players of Wexford – and hugely enjoyed it. I shall return on Saturday evening for Moll by John B Keane.

The soldiers billeted in Haldanes and Stark’s Factory during the War were often drilled in the streets around Corn Market where I lived. We all thought it fun to watch them.

After so long in positions of power, the O’Hanlons (and indeed with them, the O’Neills and Magennisses) were wont to forget the allegiance (spiritual at least) they owed to the Church and were frequently in conflict with it.
