Review: Entertaining Angels

Thursday night’s helping at the Drama Festival was Clarence’s interpretation of Richard Everett’s ‘Entertaining Angels’.

Clarence has been around forever and can usually be relied upon to choose a challenging and entertaining play and provide an original interpretation.

Not this time. An extremely boring and almost pointless play plodded on at a pedestrian pace.

I did not wait for Mr Rushforth’s adjudication, seeking instead some late night relief from my caustic TV3 nightly political commentator Vincent Browne. The sooner that play is forgotten, the better.

Tonight’s combination of Holywood Players and Alan Ayckbourn should be enough to renew our interest. Apart from last night, we have had a very interesting and successful Festival.

The play is ‘Absurd Person Singular’. Curtain up is at 8 pm.
